Open Meadows Foundation Offers Funding for Projects to Benefit Women and Girls

The Open Meadows Foundationsupports projects that are led by and benefit women and girls, particularly those from vulnerable communities.
Open Meadows offers grants of up to $2,000 for projects that are designed and implemented by women and girls; reflect the diversity of the community served by the project in both its leadership and organization; promote building community power; promote gender, racial, social, economic, and/or environmental justice; and have limited financial access or have encountered obstacles in their search for funding. The foundation funds projects that do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender identity and expression, sexual identity and expression, age, or ability.
Organizations interested in applying must have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or a fiscal sponsor that is tax exempt. The applicant's organizational budget should not exceed $150,000. Small and start-up organizations are strongly encouraged to apply. Proposals from organizations not previously funded have priority.

Family Caregiver Alliance Invites Entries for Innovations in Alzheimer's Disease Caregiving Legacy Awards Program

With continuing support from the Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Foundation, the Family Caregiver Alliance is administering the third annual Rosalinde Gilbert Innovations in Alzheimer's Disease Caregiving Legacy Awards program.
The program is intended to stimulate innovation in the field of Alzheimer's caregiving by recognizing and rewarding efforts that lead the way in addressing the needs of Alzheimer's caregivers.
Three awards of $20,000 each will be awarded to nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, government agencies, and universities responding to a community need with a program or project that focuses primarily on family/informal caregivers of adults with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Family or informal caregivers are unpaid caregivers.
One award will be granted in each of three categories.
Creative Expression This award will go to programs or projects that use imaginative and creative approaches in supporting persons with dementia or family/informal caregivers of persons with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Examples include programs or projects using art, music, theater, journaling, multimedia (e.g., film, documentary, radio), or other types of creative expression.
Diverse/Multicultural Communities This award will go to programs or projects that provide services, support, or other types of outreach to family/informal caregivers of persons with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias in diverse ethnic, rural, low-income, and LGBT or other communities.
Policy and Advocacy This award will go to programs or projects that advocate for systems change for the benefit of family/informal caregivers or care recipients with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias. These efforts could focus on legislation, executive or administrative changes, advocacy campaigns, or any other action to strengthen the public or private sector's recognition and support of family/informal caregivers.

TD Charitable Foundation Offers Grants to Support Capital Improvements for Affordable Housing

The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, has announced that it will award a total of $1.7 million in grants through its fifth annual Housing for Everyone grant competition to support affordable housing initiatives from Maine to Florida.
The theme of this year's competition is "Capital Improvements for Affordable Housing." Preservation or improvement activities must make a qualitative difference in the lives of residents, improve the overall condition of the property, provide overall cost savings, and/or improve energy efficiency.
The foundation will award thirty-four grantsranging from $10,000 to $100,000 each to eligible housing nonprofit organizations that submit compelling proposals.
Applicant organizations must be tax-exempt under IRS Code 501(c)(3) or must be a state/local government entity; must develop or maintain affordable housingor provide housing-related programs and services to low- and moderate-income individuals or families; and must provide services in a TD Bank, N.A. metro market area. Applicants must also demonstrate fiscal responsibility and the impact they have made on affordable housing efforts in their communities.
